MAKIWARA

Calasanz will be teaching a class on the Makiwara Board - an ancient Okinawan training device used to help toughen the hands, feet, knees and elbows. The Makiwara, a canvas-covered pad is a staple in your martial arts training regimen.You can really learn how to train in this martial art form.

KARATE KUMITE

Calasanz will be demonstrating the technique of Karate Kumite and explaining how to put Traditional Sequences together. These sequences are very common in fighting scenes during the making of Chinese martial arts movies. Each sequence can go from Ippon Kumite (each opponent does one technique) up to Juhon Kumite (each opponent does 10 techniques) or even more.

If you were ever in a bad situation and your life was in danger, then you would need survival skills. Students possess many different martial arts styles and skills - they can move, they can strike - but that does not mean they have what is takes to survive on the street.

Endurance in your arms, legs and other parts of your body can help you overcome many difficult situations. And with proper techniques, your attacks become heavy and deadly even if you just take martial arts for recreation.

BUNKAI

Bunkai is the practical application and deeper meaning of Kata.

It takes at many years of training before most students can really understand Bunkai. Calasanz will give analysis and meaning on techniques of Bunkai for Sparring, fighting and performing a Kata.
This clinic will greatly improve your overall performance in the Calasanz System. Beneficial for student of all levels.

JUMPING KICKS

Our system is very simple, but it can also be very complex. For that reason, jumping kicks are rarely used. But if you really enjoy the martial arts and want to push it to the next level, it is important that you get a sense and understanding of the complexity of the Calasanz’s system.

Jumping kicks require discipline and consistency in your training. In this clinic, Calasanz will demonstrate different techniques on how to jump and strike with kicks.
