The Aerobic Self Defense program was designed for those individuals who were originally trained in dance, gymnastics or similar disciplines. Calasanz enjoys working with this population because they have already built the physical foundation necessary to do well in the martial arts. They already possess power and flexibility; the next phase is to learn the martial arts aspect and apply these new techniques.
The Aerobic Self Defense course includes the toning and endurance building Aerobic Isolation and Isometric exercises, as well as basic self defense techniques. Kristen, a ballet and jazz dancer, enjoys the benefits of Calasanzs Aerobic Self-Defense course. I find that it helps enhance my focus and concentration, says Kristen. I also like the fact that I am learning how to defend myself in the process.
